Children’s Ministries

Children’s Ministry facilitates the many activities at CUMC beyond Sunday school for children from infants through fifth grade. Opportunities for service in children’s ministry include nursery assistance, helping with special events, leading children’s church on Sunday and participating in Vacation Bible School. Kids Konnection is an opportunity for children in grades K-5th to be involved in a music ministry.  The choir will learn upbeat songs of praise to sing during Sunday morning worship. Children’s Choir rehearses on Whee Wednesdays, 6:00-7 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Christin Wilson leads the children.

Vacation Bible School is held every year for one week during the summer.

Cradle Ministry is a ministry that shares with the family the congregation’s joy of the birth of a new baby and, again, when the infant is baptized into the church community.  After the birth of the infant, a rose is put on the altar the following Sunday in honor of the newborn.  The Care Team Leader will contact the family about bringing meals during the first week that the infant is home.

CUMC Nursery and Preschool is staffed by two adult paid attendants and volunteers on Sunday mornings from 8:45 – 12:15 to provide a stimulating, stable environment for our infant to toddler age groups. Contact: Bonnie Stephens, 293-1154.

Children’s Message occurs during the worship service with adults sharing their faith with children in a five-minute lesson. Contact the church office, 293-9215.

Children’s Church is a special worship opportunity for children in grades K-3 held during the last half of the regular worship service. During this time, children may enjoy special stories, crafts, music, prayer time, unique worship experiences, object lessons and, from time to time, dance. Contact: Sandy Railsback.
